Trek to OZ

Europe, Middle East, Asia, Oz (2010-2011)

What the trip started out as and what we are currently doing is nowhere near the same. That's overland travel I suppose; plans change hourly, visas aren't issued and money runs out.

We are currently in Malaysia after doing Europe, Turkey, Iran, and the UAE. At the moment we are heading up to Thailand and then into Laos before coming back down and shipping the car to Fremantle around March 2011. We've had some 'issues' along the way but all in all it's going swimmingly.

I see from the links to my website that some of the Toyota boys have been having a little bit of a laugh at our problems with the car. I suppose that's fair, however I can assure certain members that the car was extensively prepared, as were we, but no matter how well you plan and prepare these things happen, although with Land Rovers more often than usual it has to be said! Anyway, thanks to all those showing an interest, it was interesting reading the comments on the Landcruiser website. (http://www.landcruiserclub.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=9415)fingers crossed we have a garage free trip the rest of the way to Oz...!

Hi, We have followed Trek to Oz from the begging but seems more like a shipping adventure now?

Let them laugh.

Simon,
Let them laugh, they probably only read about it, you do it.
Who has the last laugh.

But dont knock the Landys, they are a great tool like the Toyota, the differences is too close to call between them.
