A sense of humour, patience and a smile. Now that’s three, but hey! one dont work without the other two.

Do doubt we will have one somewhere.
Once bitten, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! bitten for ever.
In March 2012 we should be setting off in our land rover Sandy to Australia and New Zealand. The route has been fraught with problems, we would have preferred to travel through India and Burma but world events have dictated that this is not to be. The exorbitant cost the Chinese now demand to travel through China to access Laos and Thailand put this route out of the question. We are now settled on through Norway, Sweden and Finland, into Russia, Kazakhstan, back into Russia to gain access to Mongolia. Then once more into Russia to Vladivostik to ship to Japan or South Korea and onward to Aus. Timing is everything, or it gets far too cold. To return we are hopeful that we should ship to Cape Town and travel the west side of Africa to complete out last trip down the east coast of Africa.
Our Landrover has been rebuilt and modified from a 110 to a 130 with a cab and a box body fitted out as a caravan with insulation and a lifting roof. Two caravans used to supply the parts needed, one for the interior fittings and one for the lifting roof. Extra fuel and water tanks, interior heater, engine heater, double shocks, rear air bag helpers. Lifting roof, insulated. See web site www.sandystravels.net for full details of the conversion.
