Five Quick Questions

If I could only give one piece of advice...

Watch your weight - less is best. You can find your everyday needs in most places.

The most essential thing I took with me

A sense of humour and our little box of Hamleys magic tricks!

The most useless thing I took with me (non-human)

Our highlift jack and a second spare tyre.

Most ingenious self repair of the trip

Never needed. But we have been told by truckers that a big, well chewed lump of chewing gum will seal a leaking diesel tank perfectly! (That's a Nessie top tip.)

Would I recommend it?

Personally we prefer the taste of wrigleys gum.

Iran, India, Asia, China and Russia (2006 until 2008)

Our trip was in a Landrover 110 300 Tdi with a roof tent. We drove from the UK to India via Albania, Turkey, Iran etc then we shipped to Asia and left through China and Russia. A superb trip with many great experiences.

One thing we would advice is to have the facility to sleep inside for dodgy areas or bad weather situations - fortunately this trip had very few bad weather days.

We only sold our Landy because we wanted to spend many years travelling this way and, for us, a landy was not a sensible longterm living vehicle.

Brilliant news you're back on the road. Jealous as hell - got a week (yes a week) in Morocco in about 10 days and that is it. Wife refusing to go! Off to check your website!
