No Brian

They are originally dutch but now live in Australia.

They have done a lot of Europe in the past but are looking to get back there and do some more.

Very very experienced travellers, and thoroughly nice people

Neil

They certainly are well travelled!

As they are Dutch, they are automatically nice people! All the Dutch are.

Would be good to get them to the AO show.....

Take care both,

B.

Tick

For years we have seen photos of travellers at this iconic monument in the Atacama region of Chile.

Manos del Desierto.

That's stunning! Is that sky real? :D
Could have done with a sky like that at the Let's Rock festival in leeds. Some guy was offering to 'unlock the juke box and do us all a favour'...... ;)
Good to see your progress. Cheers. John

Yes John its real.

Just down the road is one of the two ESO ( European Southern Observatories). Which have some of the biggest optical telescopes in the world.

The reason that the Europeans astronomers put it here is that this part of the Atacama region gets a minimum of 350 nights per year cloudless fear black skies.

About 2 hours after these photos were taken we had the most amazing display of stars.

Have a look at http://www.eso.org

Awesome you two, absolutely awesome.

Pat, you look soooo comfy there, in your element!

I assume Neil was doing the cooking/washing/cleaning the truck whilst you had your feet up?

Love to you both,

B.

Took the truck to 4400 meters today.

Was interested to see how it performed.

We it was fine, a bit smokey and lathargic bit no other issues

That’s nearly 14500 feet well done, I bet you weren’t running about so quick either. If you were you would smoke a bit too, poor Truck!

Awesome photos guys. It does look like a bit like a lost Easter Islander has just said 'HALT' to your truck ;)
