Well its all become very real now.

Yesterday I delivered Cloud 9 to the London Port of Tilbury .

Prior to taking it I had become quite stressed about them accepting the vehicle for shipping as I had been sent a huge document with all the shipping requirements .

However, the staff there were very pleasant and the hole affair took less than 30 mins and was really quite painless.

The next time we see the truck will be in about 7-8 weeks in Montevideo in Uruguay.

Now we can focus on all the other doestic crap tht hasbeen neglected over the last few weeks .

Wow Neil and Pat, that must feel like having your arms ripped off!

Phil told me about that document, or should it be called a "tomb", well done both of you.

Looking good though, fantastic, you both deserve it.

B.

Okay, and I know this may be BS, and I'm completely outside my sphere of knowledge, but just got this through the Silk guys....

Important Uruguay Vehicle Confiscations: Recently the Audanua in Uruguay have seized multiple vehicles from several storage locations including Nuevo Helvecia & Sandra's
If you have your vehicle stored in the country, we would strongly recommended that a) You contact the storage facility b) Ensure the storage facility has a copy of your documents and a the valid TIP c) Depending on the outcome of the court case, consider moving your vehicle as soon as possible to another location / country.
There is a court case on the 18th of October, if the Aduana actions are up held the vehicles could be permanently seized and auctioned off by the Aduana
There is an on going discussing on the developing event here: https://www.facebook.com/…/Overl…/permalink/691921344336841/
This is the customs press release in relation to to the seizure http://www.aduanas.gub.uy/…/mas-de-1-millon-de-dolares-en-v…
Please share to ensure those with vehicles in the country are aware of the situation!!

Neil - genuinely not wanting to give you necessary concerns, but thought it worth raising in case you need to take any actions. Hope for the best.

Thanks Dave

We have been monitoring this for a few days now since it broke.

It won't effect us as we are not looking to store our vehicle.

There appears to be several things in play causing this issue.

1. Some of the vehicles may be over stayers in breach of the import conditions.

2. They have been left unattended which is also in breach of those conditions

3. The facilities don't appear to have the right permits etc.

Why the local government has decided to crackdown now is still a mystery.

There is a court case on the 18th which might shed more light.

Thanks for thinking of us

Neil

Good to know, Neil.

As you say, seems somewhat arbitrary their decision to crack down now...

Don't worry about the domestic crap you neglected, it'll still be there whenever you decide to come back!

Having spent 5 years planning this and the last 2 weeks packing the truck.

Within 24 hours of delivering it to the port we have discovered about 100 items that we should have put in the truck.

How did that happen

Too late now
