Motorhome aires next to ski resorts-France

Postby Zoltan » Fri Jan 20, 2017 3:40 pm

As the truck isn't going to be ready in time for our usual half term February trip we will have to go at the end of term, end of March but that means no great rush to get back :) It should be reasonably snow sure if we head high up.

We usually go to Chatel and we have been to Alpe D'Huez, I'm keen to know where else skiers have found motorhome parking near the slopes that you won't get turfed out of by the Gendarmes. I remember seeing motorhome parking in La Plagne under one of the lifts

Colin

I use the camper contact App. Its fantastic it has all the aires.

Its free online but if you want to download all the data to your phone to use offline then its a few quid a year.

Pays for itself after the first night

I have "All the aires" from Vicarious books and the 2017 Camperstop, if you've anywhere specific in mind, let me know and I'll look it up,

There is free motorhome parking at the bottom of the lifts in Monetier in the Serre Chevalier resort. End of March is pushing it for snow there though based on my experience last year.

Hi Colin we skied at La Rouses in the Haute Jura on 17-20 March last year http://www.ourworldtraveller.com/2016/03/day-10.html
The resort is quite high 1680m http://www.onthesnow.co.uk/jura/les-rousses/ski-resort.htmlwebsitehttp://www.lesrousses.com/
The skiing was fantastic and it is free to stay in the ski station car park where they have provided a Flot Bleu that is heated.

You can ski over into Switzerland. The resort was rammed with snow and gave us the best skiing of the trip

Don't know if you are still in need of information but there is a campervan park in the resort of Les gets, which is on the extreme edge of the Porte Du Soleil ski area in France.

Cheers, that's good to know. Normally we stay in Chatel which links to Les Gets

Hi guys
Anyone heading down to ski in the trucks this year, looks like I will be down in Val Thorens at the beginning of February for a couple of weeks.

Should be plenty of snow! According to the BBC they've had 2 metres in 24 hours
