Righty, went a bit off-piste there for a bit but returning to the topic.
I've finished the latest tool: Average Daily Solar Insolation Calculator
This tool calculates how much solar energy is available anywhere in the world in kWh/m² per day, broken down by month.
It took me a while to get the data together but basically it's based on the last 7 years of NASA CERES data averaged out. It rounds locations to the nearest degree of latitude and longitude (which is still ~65,000 data points) and returns the values by each month.
This should be useful to people who want to know:
• How much solar energy they can expect per day based on where they are
• How many panels are required to generate a given amount of energy
I'm going to edit the first post so that less sifting is involved.
Tools built to date:
• DC Cable Sizing Calculator
• Solar Insolation Calculator
