In my case I wouldn't want to carry motorcycles etc we don't want a washing machine, microwave, tv etc. A fixed bed North, South, preferably a decent bathroom and a comfortable sitting area . As for cooking I'd want an oven as well as a hob, and have room for a decent sized fridge. Or is it a case of dream on Bazza?
As before, this is achievable. You can see from my website the construction I've adopted, the stuff we've fitted, and the stuff we carry.
There is no longer the need to physically reduce weight-bearing capability of trucks of this size, so our T244 is physically capable of (at least) 11,600kg. I have an LGV licence but chose to keep weight down for reasons mentioned on the website, and (in more detail) in my book.
For what it's worth, I wouldn't advocate downrating just to circumvent driver training, even if no LGV test is ultimately taken.
