My New Overland project

Postby Rusape » Fri Sep 08, 2017 9:04 am

Hi to all on the forum.

Having decided to start an overland truck project, I met Stephen Stewart who offerd a lot of advice and counsel. As a result, I purchased Steve Willgesworth's book, and most latterly spoken to Jon Bull, (courtesy of Steve), who suggested I join this forum as it is a good place for me to start.

I have little experience of travelling in large trucks, but have extensive overland experience having covered most of Europe, North America and Africa over the last 20 years.

I will admit, that I will have a lot of questions about trucks, but will initially have little to offer back to the forum other than advice based on my own travel experiences. I hope this will change over time.

I have purchased a MAN M2000 L90, that I want to convert to an overland vehicle and will be tackling this task over the next few months.

I hope to be at the OL show to I hope meet some of you who have been down this path already and may offer some words of caution and wisdom.

Lazz

Ah, welcome... :D

Cad drawing will be of no use to you as it was specific for the LD......If you make the AO show, we'll have a catch up and a natter. The principles will be the same, but I'm not familiar with the MAN chassis...............yet................ :D

Ivan,

Pleased to see you're maybe thinking about carrying on?

Steve, I came to the conclusion that I 'd rather keep it and regret it, as sell and regret. Hope that makes sense,
