Well, it certainly manages 3-inch deep puddles on hardpack very well indeed. Wonder why the driver didn't keep going forward at 00:23?...

2,500l water tanks... seriously? They failed to show the on-board swimming pool that needed all the water! That much would last me at home for 3 or 4 weeks.

I'd be interested to know more about the box construction - I noticed what looked like a vertical joint in the side.
At least they have used some of the space for a good sized kitchen, often neglected in large motorhomes.
It wouldn't be my choice, but that will hardly annoy the owner, I hope he enjoys and uses it.

Agree Ivan, everyone needs to have something that suits their requirements. Just for perspective, I am hoping my build and load weight will be below the weight of the water in the tank of this KAT 1. No quad bike for me!

Pete, we're aiming for similar results then.
My targets are, box and subframe complete 1250kg
Spare wheel, fuel capacity increase and water 1000kg
Engine increase 250kg
I estimate my chassis cab at 4500kg so I should have a bit of leeway, I'm sure Mrs Ivan will make full use of it!

Building / speccing something that suits actual requirements (as opposed to fanciful notions) is the tricky bit.

I can imagine some very niche uses for this vehicle but none of them include travelling freely and independently in remote and inhospitable terrain. Anything other than wide, open roads and reasonably flat / solid ground is simply not achievable - and even then there's going to be plenty of hassle in store. Even things like the diesel cooking facilities are a pain in real-world use.

But, it may well meet the chap's niche requirements 100% and - in spite of what the above may seem to covey - I too genuinely hope he's happy with the end product.
