It would, yes, but only if retaining 12" tyres. Tyre clearance is the limiting factor.
It should be pointed out that the separation in the pics would be more if the loadbed was only fastened to the chassis at the very back (like most rail-on-rail builds are). The standard bed's foremost fixing point is perhaps a couple of metres forward.
As in an earlier post, undoing this mount and replacing it with (conservative) opposing springs would allow a slightly more progressive (and overall greater) separation; further reducing stress in the bed and opening up the option of a less sturdy box.
