Heart breaking.

Just picked this up on another forum.

Don't know the story but I think there is a big lesson for all of us here.

I got well stuck on a beach in Peru. Luckily not near the water. I have always been tempted to do that drive for miles on the hard sand near the waters edge, but never had the bottle.

Beaches can catch you out.

Then the tide went back out.

It looks like an overlanding tour bus as oppose to an individually own truck.

As mentioned I foolishly drove onto a beach in Peru. Only went 30 meters and got stuck for many hours.

Could be Fraser Island. I was there a few years ago - it's notorious for doing this to both experienced and inexperienced drivers. There's a bloke there who offers a tow-off service that gets more and more expensive as the tide starts to come in...
