The Overlander Gathering 2010

projectmobility

The Overlander is proud to support Project Mobility.

What is Project Mobility?

Project Mobility has been set up by Sal from Mammouth 4x4 to help and assist MOD servicemen and women to "open doors to the outside" by fitting out Land Rovers for full amputee driving, enabling off-road and on-road driving experiences, expeditions and events.

Aimed at Amputees who have lost legs mainly, Project Mobility aims to provide training, vehicles and financial support for family breaks and holidays utilising these kitted vehicles.

For more information visit www.projectmobility4x4.org.

How are we helping?

We are supporting the Adventure side of Project Mobility with help via the Overlander.org in promoting www.liveit4x4.com

Live it 4x4 works with people who had great lists of what they wanted to do, see and achieve, until disaster happened, and they lost limbs, gained serious injured, brain damage and more through conflict and war. People who are fighting for "freedom" but then had theirs removed overnight.

Live It 4x4 is about Adventure, Experience and Independence, through increasing mobility and taking people off on trips, weekends, experiences and more..

Working as part of "Project Mobility 4x4", Live It 4x4 is the adventure arm of the Charitable Organisation, allowing us to run events, experiences and expeditions for our users and opening them up too civilians, families and friends.

Raising money is always going to be difficult, and Live It 4x4 offers a fantastic experience, through adventures and expeditions. Its about freedom and mobility, to go and see what others can't, through the use of 4x4's the travels go on road, off road and where there is "no road".

Project Mobility vehicles include amputee kitted Land Rovers for triple amputees as well as a fully equiped Support Vehicle, for on the road mechanical issues and medical support.

We will also be helping in the building of an expedition support truck... watch this space !
