Ex Swedish Army, 6x6, hard top body with 3 litre straight six petrol engine.
So far I have rebuilt large areas of the body and painted it an obviously non military colour. Currently rigging out the interior for, hopefully, a long overland trip. I am deliberately doing this slowly to avoid doing it twice ...or more.
What made you choose this one?
With a solo trip in mind and having watched people struggle with roof tents and piles of boxes I decided that a vehicle in which one could store everything inside and sleep inside was the best bet. It is also more secure and easier to 'escape' in the event of trouble errupting
How does it perform?
Top speed is 70mph but realistically 50mph is fast enough. Fuel consumption is heavy @ 15mpg on motorways at 50mph and a lot higher on minor roads. I have tried it a little off road and am impressed with the traction available even without uing the three axle diff locks. With the diff locks engaged I will probably chicken out before the vehicle gets stuck.
