by blaster

Tom's bike KTM 640 Adventure 2003

Andrea's bike Susuki DRZ 400 E 2009

What made you choose this one?
We are a couple into extreme adventure riding in Australia, we go to very isolated places, cross country if we have to (no tracks, just GPS to guide us). Tom's bike handles and goes great, loaded or not, it really is a great machine, Andrea has the DRZ, which is also a great bike, just not as razer sharp, but we need one reliable bike to get us out of trouble when necessary.

Modifications undertaken?
We have made our own racks and pannier system Steering dampers Extra trip meters Fuel gauge

Modifications yet to do?
Probably

How does it perform?
Both bike perform well

What would you do differently?
Andrea would like a KTM 690, but as said earlier, one of us has to have a reliable bike, and you can't go past the DRZ for that.

Awesome pics guys, love the camping spot in pic 11.

Canning stock route is on my "must do before I die" list as my visa was up before I got chance to do it last I was in Aus.

Making the effort
written by Smiffy, February 26, 2010
Great Post! Again the pictures tell the story, I wish more people would make the effort to think about composition and take a selection of lenses when they travel. It's all I have to remember the places we pass through sometimes. What type of tree is that?
tomandi
