Land Rover Defender (1996, 200 000km)
by envolemoi

We travelled with a Land Rover Defender 90, ute cab-chassis. When we bought it, in Brisbane, Australia, the back was a grid covered with a military-like fabric. In Malaysia, we built an aluminium and glass-fiber cabin. We would sleep 60% of the time in the back of the car, so it was perfect! For cooking, we had to get the table and chairs outside, and we had a cool double-stove cooker and gas bottle. For the storage, we have 4 home-made cupboards. A great car for an Overland expedition :)

What made you choose this one?
Michael was attracted by the adventure spirit, and Camel Trophy legendary car. And it looked good, with the military fabric. Also, it's the best 4x4 for offroading :)

Main criteria for this project?
Offroad capacity, powerful and strong Budget

Modifications undertaken?
Building of the back cabin, in order to sleep inside

Modifications yet to do?
For next phase: new suspensions, roof rack, winter insulation

How does it perform?
Perfect! Very powerful.

What would you do differently?
Honestly, nothing
