Land Rover Defender 90 (2006 105000 kms)
by nero92

Myself and my wife got the overlanding bug back in the late 90s on or first trip to south Africa were we borrowed a land rover and toured round south Africa and Botswana and from that trip we were hooked. Since then we have been back 5 times and got further north each time until the last trip got us up to the northern tip of Malawai one of the greenist countrys we have ever had the pleasure of driving through and we're from Ireland!!  This year we are starting at the other end of Africa Morocco to be precise and we are going to spend 2 weeks touring that beautiful country in March 2011 in td5 90 which I have prepped myself I will post some pics and hopfully others might find something useful in these. And if anybody has any questions on to make any of the mods on my vehicle feel free to ask.

What made you choose this one?
A series land rover was my first car at 17 I'm now 47 old habits die hard

Main criteria for this project?
Reliability

Modifications undertaken?
Design and building of a useful storage system for 90 that didn't cost an arm and a leg. Also under body protection and decent set of A/T tires.

Modifications yet to do?
None

How does it perform?
We've done to shake down camping trips and one off road day and I only had to make a few minor ajustments so all is good for the of in March.

What would you do differently?
Nothing
