How the Overlander works

The Overlander.org has been created by Gareth 'Stan' Healey, an experienced overlander in his own right having undertaken numerous unsupported journeys across some of the most demanding territory in Africa and Australia.

www.theoverlander.org is destined to become the premier resource for anyone planning to undertake an epic – or not so epic – adventure of their own.

It's free to register with the site to create your profile.  Registered overlanders can then 'connect' with other users, so if you have a question on an article for sale, vehicle set up, trip they have done or just want a chat then this is the place to do it. Each time you log in your articles are displayed so you can check how many hits your market place ad's are getting and see any new content listed for easy access.

The My Wheels section allows Overlanders to show their vehicle set-ups with unlimited photo's and links to their own sites, inspiring others to equip their own wheels for the road.

Trip Reports and information are readily available, with users encouraged to share their own overlanding experiences and impart invaluable information on routes, kit and general planning by Adding a Trip Report of their own. WIN a free Overlander T-Shirt with every trip report submitted in June 2009.

Using the Overlander Marketplace, registered users can sell their equipment for FREE on this unique community advertising space.  When users log in all new items advertised in the market place are listed.

In addition, the Overlander Directory is provided exclusively for companies and organisations supplying equipment or services of interest to this market – from clothing and footwear to specialist vehicles and spare parts. Users of the website can search the Directory either by keywords, services or products, with entries displayed in a clear and logical format including links to external websites.
