1. How do I add a Trip Report?
   The stories and experiences of our contributors are, in our opinion, the whole point of The Overlander as there is a global community of travellers with a vast amount of knowledge to share.
   
   To add a Trip Report of your own, first you need to register (don't worry, it only takes a moment!) and then add your information. Photographs can be uploaded, but please ensure these are 72dpi, RGB format and have a maximum dimension of 1000 x 1000 pixels (approx 20cm).

2. How does the Marketplace work?
   Very simply! Register with TheOverlander.org – setting up a user account takes just a few moments - then login using your user name and password. Go to Marketplace page and follow the instructions and once you’re done, click ‘Submit’. It’s that easy!
   
   
3. What makes the Marketplace different from, say, eBay?
   A key feature the Marketplace is the ability to agree a sale in advance: a user may have a Land Rover for sale, but they are currently using this on a trip. When listing the vehicle for sale, they are able to specify that it will be available for collection in, say, Cape Town, in one month’s time at the end of the trip. The prospective buyer will be someone whose intention is to start their own overland adventure from Cape Town around that time.
   
   The other unique thing about the Marketplace is that we notify all registered users of the Overlander by e-mail of any new adverts, so you know that people interested in Overlanding are going to find out straight away that you have an item for sale.
   
   So if you are looking for some Overlanding kit you know that as soon as something is for sale you will be notified – no more searching - it comes direct to you!
   
   
4. I want to buy an item from the Marketplace, is it safe?
   In the true spirit of overlanding, we ask that the Marketplace is self governing and that buyers and sellers respect each other and conduct their transactions in an honest manner. If you do have a bad experience with a fellow user, please Contact Us and we shall look into excluding them from the site in future.
   
   
5. So how is money exchanged?
   That’s up to you guys – you may want to arrange something through PayPal or even agree for cash on delivery. We just ask that every transaction is made in the true spirit of overlanding and that no one tries to rip off a fellow traveller.
   
   
6. What commission do I have to pay?
   Nothing. Not a single penny, cent, peso, dinar or escudo. The service is purely a notice board to allow buyers and sellers to get in touch, and no money is passed through www.theoverlander.org at any stage.
   
   
7. What happens when an item has been sold?
   Again, we want this to be as ‘self-governing’ as possible so we ask that once you’ve sold your item then you remove it from the website. If we see an item that has been hanging around for a long time we reserve the right to remove it from the website on the grounds that it may no longer be a valid entry.
   
   
8. I have a business which I'd like to advertise on the Overlander...
   That's great! You can have a FREE entry in our Directory which is provided exclusively for companies and organisations supplying equipment or services of interest to this market – from clothing and footwear to specialist vehicles and spare parts. Users of the website can search the Directory either by keywords, services or products, with entries displayed in a clear and logical format including links to external websites.
