<title>Toyota landcruiser in SA, UK registered (Sold)</title>
			<link>http://www.theoverlander.org/component/option,com_adsmanager/Itemid,24/adid,178/catid,0/page,show_ad/</link>
			<description>TOYOTA LANDCRUISER 4.2TD VX 80 SERIES
SOLD, SOLD, SOLD
PLEASE NOTE: This vehicle is in South Africa, ready to be purchases for someone to overland Africa back to the UK.

It is a British Registered Vehicle. We shipped it to Tanzania and then drove it to South Africa, financially it is not worth shipping it back to the UK as it costs over £2000.

The purchaser will safe a fortune not having to ship this vehicle as it is ready to drive back to the UK.

The vehicle has 130 000 miles, but the engine has done less. In March 2011 we replaced the engine at 120 000 miles with a reconditioned engine that had 64000 miles on it. he f

The vehicle has had major upgrades in the past year, the following has been replaced, upgraded or fixed:

1. Upgraded suspension. Old Man Emu Nitro shocks for both front and rear. Old Man Emu coils on both front (200mm) and rear (500mm). Also upgraded the damper to Old Man Emu.

2. Replaced tyres and rims. BF Goodrich Tyres placed at 121 000 miles, plus two spares which had never been used. Black modular steel rims.

3. Installed a modified bull bar. Came from a 70's series landcruise, but was extended to cover the entire front lights and strengthened.

4. Installed a rear tyre carrier for the second spare wheel. However this was incorrectly installed and fell off, so has damaged to vehicle slightly. Has been fixed and strengthened with a double backing plate. Just has a small paint chip now, but been covered with a paint pen, to prevent rust, so all good again.

5. During the replacement of the engine the following parts were also replaced withor brand new parts: Radiator, Thermostat and cover, complete clutch, water pump and warn hoses.

6. The vehcile has three batteries. Two are the standard batteries, however one has been upgraded to an Odyssey deep celled battery, lasts 10 times longer than an ordinaery battery. The 2nd battery was then installed in the rear of the vehicle connected to a Dual battery system to run the fridge and other electricals, ensuring that the ebgine batteries wouldn't go flat. Also in the front of the car is a battery level monitor so one can monitor the battery levels. The vehicle has four cigarette plugs in the front and one in the rear.

7. Since the end of our trip we have within the last 2 weeks also worked on the vehicle as we heard a cloncking noise. So we have replaced the front axle, the front propshaft, both front CV joints and the propshaft universal joints (this includes a 6 month guarentee on all the new parts and workmanship). As well as a minor service and inspection. The only thing noted is that the rear propshaft universal joint has a tiny bit of play on it and can be replaced, but is fine for another 2-3000miles. Quoted price in South Africa is about R600 and R150 for work, so about £60-70.

The overland equipment. The list is huge, but I will cover as much as possible, please note that everything has been used so minor wear and tear is possible, but I will let you know of and items which I recommend to replace.

1. A modified Titan roof rack from Direct 4X4 UK. Installed on it has 4 spot lights (these are disconnected as we took the roof rack off, but easily connected), two jerry cans and holders with locks, an Ezzi Awn roof tent (this is the older version, we bought it second hand so has slight wear on it. has two small holes on the one side but was fixed with duck tape) and an Ezi Awn Awning with two sides, great on rainy days or super sunny days.

2. Two additional jerry cans inside the vehicle. Note that all four jerry cans have been used, fuel is scares in Africa, but 4 are more than enough.

3. In the middle of the vehicle is a dog guard installed, nothing fancy, but does the job so that bags and crates don't fall all over the car.

4. Built in are storage cupboards in the rear of the vehicle, with additional storage crates (12 in total, varied sizes) above, see pic.

5. ARB 47Ltr Fridge/Freezer, we had a Waceo 50, but was stolen during shipping so had to purchase another in Tanzania. Was purchased end of October 2011, so almost still brand new, however had a few scratches, which are the normal wear and tear.

6. Two first aid kits. A small specialized overlander kit, which we kept on the front on the vehicle and another larger kit with spares, band aids, etc, etc, barely been used, maybe just some plasters to be replace. We even have over 3 months supply of Anti Malaria medication (doxy).

7. Built in safe, a must have for your paperwork, passports, etc.

8. Kitchen: Everything is there. Knifes, forks, spoons, plates, etc, etc. Also a portable braai/bbq (we tried 4 and this was the best one ever, called a Bush Big), a gas stove, but no gas bottle, in three months we never needed it, was meant to purchase one in Tanzania as we couldn't have it in the vehicle during shipping. A kelly kettle (volcano kettle). A foldable table with Four chairs.

9. Other item: Two foldable camp chairs and two foldable camp stools. Air compressor, but it is a cheap one, would recommend to purchase yourself a better one before heading off-road. New ARB decompressor, never been used. New puncher repair kit, never used. New Extreme High lift jack,. never been used. Bottle jack. Axe, spade, etc. Lots of small spares (cable ties, cables, etc). A Ground three man tent and double blow up mattress. Two ground sheets, one was never used. Varies funnels, spare diff oil, engine oil, etc. Spare air filter, oil filter and petrol filter.

Things not included, the vehicle has no tool kit, was stolen during shipping, would recommend to purchase a few spanner and screw drivers, but never had a need for them, always someone friendly to help out along the road. Also not included is our GPS, selling separate, a Garmin 60CSX with tracks4africa (willing to take offers).

There are still loads of items also included as extras.

Note that this is a second hand vehicle, which has wear and tear so it's not 100% perfect, but we couldn't have chosen a better vehicle to overland Africa with.

If you have any questions please feel free to ask, email is best as I am in South Africa with the vehicle.

NOTE: The vehicle is in Port Elizabeth, but willing to drive to Cape Town or Johannesburg if needed, buyer just to cover fuel costs.</description>
